Alliance for Workforce Development
Nevada County Alliance for Workforce Development is an America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) operator and has a variety of programs that can assist Job Seekers and Businesses. We can assist Job seekers with finding employment or help with training for a new career. We help businesses in the recruitment, screening, hiring and training of employees. Our programs include: recruitment and screening, on-the-job training (OJT), work experience/internship, customized training, vocational training, skills upgrade and career guidance when needed. Funding for this program is through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Services are offered at no cost to the business or job seeker.

Sierra Small Business Development Center
The Northern Rural Training And Employment Consortium (NoRTEC),
NoRTEC is a consortium of eleven Northern California Counties established to address the needs of job seekers and businesses in our region. We believe that a healthy business community creates economic vitality, and we are dedicated to strengthening and supporting area businesses in order to create jobs and encourage economic prosperity.
NoRTEC oversee’ s 13 America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC’s) that help develop the educational and occupational skills of job seekers to meet the needs of local businesses. Our AJCC’s also provide other services to businesses, including recruitment, screening and interviewing services, HR information/assistance, workshops and financial assistance with the training of employees. Our AJCC operator in Nevada County, is the Nevada County Business and Career Network. They are located both in Grass Valley and Truckee.

We provide resources to connect tech talent and businesses. There is a talent and employer directory. We also host regular meetups and monthly and annual events to bring tech to small businesses, promote networking and information exchange, and support small businesses and entrepreneurs.
