Gil Mathew
Executive Director
Gil Mathew is a long-time community leader and the Executive Director of the Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC), where he works to strengthen economic vitality, foster cross-sector collaboration, and support business growth throughout Nevada County. With a deep commitment to rural economic development, Gil helps guide initiatives that advance workforce readiness, small business success, local industry innovation, and long-term community resilience.
Beyond his professional role, Gil has been an active and dedicated member of the community for many years. He is deeply involved with Rotary and frequently volunteers his time to local causes and civic efforts. Outside of work, he enjoys socializing with friends and spending quality time with his wife, Kathy.
Janet Augstein
Administrative Services
Janet Augstein has served as Executive Services Administrator for the Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) since 2012, supporting economic development initiatives that strengthen local businesses, workforce development, and community partnerships. As a key member of the ERC team, she coordinates programs, events, communications, and outreach efforts that connect business, education, government, and nonprofit leaders throughout Nevada County.
With a background in office management, event production, and administrative support, Janet brings strong organizational, creative, and relationship-building skills to her work. She enjoys working behind the scenes to coordinate programs, events, and communications that support the ERC’s mission of fostering a resilient and thriving local economy.
Allie Crook
Marketing & Outreach
Allie Crook is a development and communications professional with experience in sales, marketing, and organizational management. She enjoys work that strengthens local business ecosystems, supports community partnerships, and brings clarity to complex projects. Her interests include program development, social science, and nonprofit strategy.
Allie serves as the Development Manager at the Nevada County Chamber of Commerce and as a Research Assistant with the Economic Resource Council. She is an active Rotary member and is motivated by meaningful collaboration, practical problem‑solving, and work that contributes to the common good.
