For 30 years, the Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) has been dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality of Nevada County by bringing together business leaders, community partners, educators, and public agencies to support growth, innovation, and opportunity. Since its founding in January 1996, the ERC has worked to foster a thriving business environment, support workforce development, and help shape a strong and resilient local economy. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we reflect on three decades of collaboration, impact, and community leadership while looking ahead to the opportunities that will define Nevada County’s future.

Tour of Nevada County
It was an incredible day exploring five unique businesses that help drive and strengthen our local economy: The Cabinet Company, Geoship, Freedom Print Co., California College of Ayurveda, and Alpine Aviation. Each stop offered a behind-the-scenes look at the innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship that make Nevada County such a special place to live and work. Judging by the conversations throughout the day, there were definitely a few “favorite stops” among attendees this year.
Guests also enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Tailored Tidbits, which was the perfect opportunity to reconnect, network, and reflect on the day’s experiences.
A special thank you goes out to our generous sponsors whose support helps make this event possible: River Valley Community Bank, Team Mimi Simmons, Cranmer Engineering, Inc., MEC Builds LLC, Nevada County Association of Realtors, Grass Valley Provisions, and KNCO. Your partnership and commitment to our community are greatly appreciated.
We were also fortunate to have an outstanding group of bus hosts who helped make the day both informative and enjoyable. A special thank you to Kimberly Parker, Maryanne Connelley, Kim Stewart, Kevin Crane, Jason Fouyer, and Lisa Swarthout for keeping the tour on schedule, engaging participants throughout the day, and adding plenty of energy, fun, and great conversation along the way. Their enthusiasm and leadership truly enhanced the experience for everyone on board.
We would also like to thank Bodhi-Hive for the use of their facility as the starting and ending point for the tour. Their space continues to provide a welcoming and collaborative environment for this annual event.
The ERC, together with our partners and sponsors, is proud to provide opportunities like the Tour of Nevada County that showcase the businesses and people contributing to the economic vitality of our region.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Recreation Fair
The Nevada County Recreation Fair—is a celebration of the people, places, and programs that make our community an exceptional place to live, work, and play.
TThe Recreation Coalition’s Annual Recreation Fair brought the community together for a vibrant and engaging day at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Held on Saturday, April 25, the second annual event featured 64 vendors and highlighted the incredible range of recreational opportunities available throughout the county.
From Cub Scouts and equestrian groups to trail advocates, the local flying club, and summer camp providers, the event showcased the depth and diversity of Nevada County’s outdoor and community-based activities. The four-hour fair was a strong reflection of the collaboration between organizations and residents, all working to celebrate and promote the many ways to get involved, stay active, and enjoy the region’s natural and recreational assets.
