Petition to Save the Empire Mine State Historic Park

By July 23, 2009, a total of 7244 signatures had been collected and delivered to Governor Schwartzenegger, CA State Senator Aanestad, and CA Assemblyman Logue in Sacramento by Virginia Brunini and a few other dedicated volunteers asking that the 2009 State budget retain funding for the Empire Mine State Historic Park. The budget was signed July 28, 2009 and the Governor did cut funding to the State park system; however, the impact of this action on the Empire Mine park is unknown and the State parks are currently open.
