The government sector of economy of Nevada County experienced moderate growth in the latter days of the 1990s, peaked in 2002, and has since decreased in numbers of jobs. The County Seat is located in Nevada City, and the majority of the County Government positions are at the Eric W. Rood Administrative Center. There are three principal municipalities in Nevada County: Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Truckee. Each of these entities has a separate governmental structure.
